Step by step

  1. Note the extension: MKV, WEBM, AVI and FLV are the usual suspects on TVs, phones and older players.
  2. Upload the file to the Video Converter and choose MP4.
  3. Convert — the picture is re-encoded faithfully into the container everything plays.
  4. Test the MP4 where the original failed before deleting anything.

FAQ

Will converting an unplayable video lose quality?

At the default settings, no visible loss for normal viewing — and an unplayable video has no quality at all until it plays.

Why do downloads arrive in odd formats at all?

Because serving sites optimise for their bandwidth (WEBM) or their apps (MKV), not for your television.

Is this really free?

Yes — every tool on this site is free. A short ad before your download is what pays the server bills, so nothing needs a paywall or an account.
